Physician Volunteers Needed!
Saturdays, 10:30am to 3pm
We are currently looking for physician volunteers to join us on Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., as an essential part of our free clinic team. Volunteer physicians have the unique opportunity to teach medical students and undergraduates in addition to working with a unique patient population. Physicians also have the option of applying for an Assistant Clinical Faculty title with Stanford University School of Medicine.
Pacific Free Clinic is a student-run, free clinic established through the Stanford University School of Medicine to address the unmet health care needs of uninsured immigrants with limited English proficiency, often speakers of Vietnamese and Spanish. We offer free health care services and education in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner, including primary outpatient care, health screenings, basic medications, and referrals. You can find information about Pacific Free Clinic here at this website.
The clinic is located every Saturday at Overfelt High School Health Clinic located at 1835 Cunningham Avenue in East San Jose near King Road and Ocala Avenue. The Medical Director is Dr. Rex Chiu, Clinical Assistant Professor and Internist in the Department of General Internal Medicine at Stanford, and the daily activities of the clinic are managed by Stanford medical students and undergraduates.
